British films for a global audience

Our work in the film industry stretches back many years, and we’ve been working with Studio Soho since 2012. Studio Soho is a film production and distribution company based out of central London. The studio delivers highly commercial and marketable British films to a worldwide audience. They also offer a fantastic consultancy service, assisting filmmakers in developing, packaging and facilitating the finance of their feature projects to move them into production.

Branding and Ident

Our work with Studio Soho is varied, including designing investment packs, brochures and film poster branding.

We initially created the brand identity, which is simple but lends itself perfectly to the subtle ident that precedes the studio’s films. We used drone footage of iconic London landmarks including Piccadilly Circus – the gateway to Soho – to create a dramatic sequence seen at the start of all of their movies. This is one of several idents we’ve now created for the film industry.

Award-winning movie Mum's List

Along with many other commercial films, we worked on an extensive range of promotional material for Studio Soho’s movie Mum’s List for four years in the buildup to its big release.

The film boasts the fine acting talents of Rafe Spall, Emilia Fox and Elaine Cassidy. It’s the true story and – a word of warning – it’s a tearjerker.

An integrated campaign

Working closely with producers Nick Hamson and Niall Johnson, our involvement originally came in creating the film investment branding, poster and brochures. From then we created the theatrical poster artwork by developing the existing book cover recently re-released by Penguin. The posters were displayed in the London Underground as well as being featured heavily on social media and TV including This Morning, ITV News, Good Morning Britain and the BBC’s Breakfast News show.

We also worked closely with Universal Music to develop the accompanying soundtrack CD artwork as well as creating the DVD design and host of designs for the premiere – invitations, press pack and red carpet step-and-repeat boards.

“It’s taken me 10 years in the entertainment industry to find a creative agency who actually take the time to really understand our business model and what we’re all trying to achieve. It’s become a very closely aligned partnership with the team at Arch, having now completed a number of films together and we’ve seen new projects get off the ground so much faster as we don’t have to spend too much time briefing the team – they just get it first time.”
