IKEA Finance Services

Background

We worked with Ikano Bank and IKEA to create a series of minimalist, engaging animations that simplify the explanation of their new online payment service. Our team managed the entire process, from concept to final delivery, ensuring the visuals aligned with IKEA’s signature Scandinavian aesthetic while maintaining clarity and accessibility.

The Brief

We were tasked with developing animations that clearly illustrate how customers can use IKEA’s flexible payment service. The animations needed to be visually engaging, easy to understand without voiceover, and adaptable for different languages while fitting within IKEA’s brand style.

Making the complex simple

Working closely with the client we felt that the simplest, and therefore “most IKEA”, way to explain complex solutions was with relatable, minimalist illustrations. Every drawing in the entire video catalogue was developed in-house by the Arch Creative team. The aim was to create something simple to tie in with the brand’s signature clean, Scandinavian style, but also pulling from the IKEA instruction illustration of simple, black line art.

In order for the video to be understood quickly in a store environment where there are other sounds, we created the video without a voiceover, making this as simple and visual as possible. This also future-proofed it for universal appeal, and gave us the flexibility to be able to adapt quickly in other languages with simple copy changes.

The animations were developed to incredibly tight turnaround times. We managed the entire process, from brief to script-development, storyboarding, illustration, animation and delivery.

Fun and engaging storytelling 

Arch Creative have worked with IKEA Finance and sister company, Ikano Bank, for many years, and during this time we have created numerous animated films to explain new products. At the core of these projects is to dissect potentially complex new tech and finance products whilst telling a compelling story in their unique brand style.




IKEA Family Credit Card

What we did

Ikano Bank, founded by the family behind IKEA, has a long history of creating simple and fair financial services that help customers live better everyday lives. Continuing our partnership with Ikano Bank, we were invited to help launch their new IKEA Family Credit Card, designed to make it easier for customers to spread the cost of purchases and manage their home projects with flexibility and confidence.

The launch represented an exciting moment for IKEA, strengthening the connection between their retail experience and financial offering.

The Brief

Ikano Bank needed creative assets to support the in-store launch of the IKEA Family Credit Card. The goal was to bring the new product to life in a way that felt unmistakably “IKEA”: approachable, inspiring, and focused on helping customers create a better home.

Our task was to create assets to support the official launch environment within the store, branded materials to support the campaign, and capture the excitement of the launch day itself through film.
