Campaigns in the mental health sector need to be impactful, authentic, and sensitive to the challenges people face. We have a proven track record of crafting campaigns that inspire action and make a difference.
We worked in partnership with United Against Violence and Abuse (UAVA) to develop the Wrong Campaign, aimed at promoting awareness of and preventing domestic and sexual abuse. The campaign used striking typographic design, incorporating broken objects into the word “WRONG” – avoiding cliche imagery and instead focusing on subtle yet impactful visuals to encourage deeper engagement. The campaign’s success led to Leicestershire Police commissioning a Christmas variation to raise awareness during a high-risk period for domestic abuse.
Our campaigns aren’t just about aesthetics — they are about real impact. Whether you need to increase local awareness or roll out a national campaign, we bring creativity and strategy together to inspire action.
We understand that in order to do justice to difficult or sensitive topics, we must speak to those who have lived experience. We have experience in co-producing campaigns and consulting people with lived experience throughout the development and delivery of the campaign. Embedding their voices at every stage of the project is critical to ensuring we deliver campaigns with authenticity, relevance, and success.
With the Lives Not Knives campaign, we addressed the critical issue of youth violence and knife crime. Using bold, evocative imagery, the campaign featured a hard-hitting short film targeting young men aged 13–24, highlighting the devastating personal and societal consequences of knife crime.
To ensure authenticity, young people were consulted during its creation, shaping the core message: “You don’t get a second chance to reverse a bad decision.”
The video formed the centrepiece of an Instagram campaign, achieving nearly 1M impressions, a reach of 650,000, and an 8.83% engagement rate—5.5 times higher than the platform average.
This empowering campaign inspired action and raised awareness across the community.
In our County Lines campaign, we tackled the pressing issue of youth exploitation and drug trafficking. We created a hard-hitting visual narrative, spotlighting the devastating impact on young lives. Knowing that the most valuable information would come from people that had experienced this specific type of grooming first-hand, we interviewed a young person and one of their parents who had been involved in county lines drugs trafficking to craft the core narrative of the story, which was then dramatised by actors.
To create the sense that we were dropping in on a character’s life, narrated by the interview, we deployed an edit-heavy montage effect. Footage was shot in a high frame-rate to allow us to slow the action down, adding dramatic weight, and the cameras were well equipped to let us pull focus, creating a hazy memory or drugs-use effect.
The campaign’s strong imagery and messaging served to educate communities, parents, and young people about the risks and signs of exploitation while encouraging vigilance and intervention.
Storytelling is at the heart of mental health communication, and we know how to tell stories that resonate. Our ability to present difficult, sensitive subjects in an approachable and compelling way help organisations connect with their audience on a deeper level.
We worked closely with behavioural change experts in developing the Hidden Messages campaign for Leicester City Council, addressing the rise in domestic abuse during the COVID-19 lockdown.
The campaign targeted friends, family, and colleagues of abuse victims, encouraging them to take action by contacting UAVA. The simple yet impactful creative featured fractured phone screens revealing hidden messages, prompting viewers to notice signs of abuse and act. The campaign was shared across digital, social, and print platforms to raise awareness and increase helpline referrals, especially from men.
We understand the power of stories and visuals to move people—and we know how to present your services in a way that encourages understanding, support, and engagement.
