Steamin’ Billy have created a new well hopped quality English IPA beer that is fit for a king, and Arch have created the designs.

The ’1485 Return of the King’ real ale has been created, crafted and brewed in Leicestershire. 1485 was the year that the King of England was killed at Ambion Hill at The Battle of Bosworth.

The beer cans are sold in packs of six and the design incorporates information about Richard III, the last of the Plantagenet dynasty, as well as etched illustrations and heraldic graphics. As well as pump clips and in store and external graphics we have also designed a set of etched glasses created as a celebratory keepsake and to serve the craft ale in the pubs.

The distinctive new flavour forms part of the range of Steamin’ Billys’ own renowned real ales sold across all nine pubs, to coincide with the reinterment of Richard III at Leicester Cathedral on Thursday 26th March.

This Sunday, the 22nd March, the remains of Richard III will be travelling around Leicestershire on a 15 mile route, visiting the Bosworth Battlefield and into Leicester City centre directly past the Arch Creative studio. The eyes of the world will be watching this global, historic event, so we’ll be raising a toast to Richard III on Thursday with a glass of 1485 – The return of the King!
