What sets an exceptional school apart from a great school? Whether it’s the student experience, the quality of the teaching staff or the investment in young people’s lives, it’s important that schools show off exactly why they’re the best choice for education.

Northampton School for Girls understands that education means business in the 21st century, so they approached Arch Creative to develop a suite of virtual open days for prospective students. The films were to showcase the history and heritage of NSG, The quality of the teaching and learning experience, and the extra-curricular activities available for new students.

Film School

Filming in a school requires a tremendous amount of organisation. Timetables were created, students and parents informed and lessons carefully planned so that our video process would have minimal impact on the NSG students. The shoot was carried out over one day, which meant we had to be extra meticulous when capturing what we needed.

Alongside capturing in-lesson footage, we developed a series of interview questions to probe teachers and students on the best things about Northampton School for Girls. These interview sessions also had to be planned into our busy schedule. We utilised two camera crew, alongside a small, discrete team of Arch staff to ensure we captured everything we needed on the day.

Due to the success of the open day video Arch were engaged to create a similar video for their Sixth form.

In the edit suite

All of our videos are edited in-house by Arch Creative, and the NSG Open Day videos were no exception. It’s one thing creating a great video, but it takes an extra level of thought to incorporate an existing brand identity into new visuals.
