Compass Group & The 02

Background

Compass Group is the world’s largest food service agency and a market leader within the UK’s contract catering sector. With a wide portfolio of brands operating across multiple industries, their influence is significant. The group encompasses businesses within the events and hospitality sector, giving them a powerful presence across venues of every size and speciality.

As a preferred supplier of creative design for Compass Group, we have the opportunity to work across these brands. Our partnership has taken us into sporting stadiums, stately homes, museums, art galleries, zoos, indoor ski slopes and major entertainment destinations such as The O2. We also collaborate closely with their specialist partners, including Levy RestaurantsLime Venue Portfolio and Payne & Gunter.

The Brief

Compass Group required a creative partner capable of supporting a wide range of venues and sub-brands with consistent, high-quality design. Our brief was to deliver adaptable, sector-appropriate creative work, from branding and campaigns to menus, event collateral and digital assets, that considered the needs of each site while maintaining Compass Group’s overall standards. Our role as a preferred supplier ensures we provide design solutions that strengthen their brand family across multiple environments and audiences.

Innovative designs for a landmark venue

The O2 is a multi-purpose indoor entertainment arena in London and holds the title of the world’s busiest music arena. Compass Group manages the hospitality at the venue, giving us the opportunity to collaborate directly with The O2 over many years. Our work has spanned corporate suite menus, concourse graphics, and concession menus, as well as art directing photography shoots to ensure the venue’s presentation is as striking as its events.

American Express VIP Lounge

The American Express-sponsored VIP lounge underwent a major interior redesign, and we were commissioned to create a range of high-specification menus tailored to a music-loving, affluent audience.

The menus were playfully inspired by halved and hinged 12” vinyl records, featuring Jackson Pollock–style paint splashes. Crafted from anodised aluminium, each design incorporated engraved logos, lathed finishes, and screen-printed colours, marrying artistry with precision engineering.

The work was recognised by the industry, earning runner-up status in the prestigious Drum Design Awards.

Virgin Atlantic and Delta co-branded luxury designs

We designed a range of luxury menus and bar accessories for the co-branded Virgin Atlantic and Delta NY-LON Bar, named to reflect the iconic New York-to-London route shared by the two airlines.

The design concept drew inspiration from the unique flight path patterns between the two cities, which were embossed onto padded metallic gold materials. Our work encompassed a full suite of bar and dining assets, including the cocktail menu, tip tray, tab card, clipboard, and food and drink menus, all crafted to deliver a premium experience.

Viva Burrito

We developed the brand identity and visual style for Viva Burrito, a Mexican food-to-go restaurant located at The O2. The brand is geometric and vibrant, using bold orange and teal to capture the energy and spirit of Mexico. A Day of the Dead-inspired icon complements the overall branding, adding a playful and distinctive touch. The Viva Burrito identity has since been successfully rolled out to additional venues, including Excel London, ensuring a consistent and recognisable presence across locations.

Caddyshackers & East Street Lanes

What we did

A simple night out no longer satisfies today’s audience. People are looking for something more: an experience that’s engaging, competitive, social, and, ideally, worthy of sharing. This is the rise of competitive socialising: challenge your friends (or your partner) to a game of skill and you’re set for a great evening. Win and you celebrate; lose and you still win – because you’re already in a bar.

In Leicester, this space is defined by Caddyshackers and East Street Lanes. Created by the team behind the Steamin’ Billy pub company, Caddyshackers launched as the city’s first indoor crazy-golf venue, while East Street Lanes followed as the city centre’s only dedicated bowling alley.

The Brief

With Caddyshackers selling out nightly in its first three months, it was clear that competitive socialising was a winning formula. But early success also meant competition wouldn’t be far behind. To stay ahead, both venues needed bold, memorable branding that would stand out, scale with demand, and remain firmly rooted in the Leicester nightlife scene.

Arch Creative were tasked with elevating the Caddyshackers and East Street Lanes brands, ensuring each identity captured the spirit of competitive socialising while appealing directly to the audiences who make these venues thrive.

We’re responsive & easy to work with, so drop us a line and let’s create some amazing work together.
