Over the past few weeks we’ve been working on several out of home (OOH) ad campaigns across the country. Marketing to consumers when they’re on the go is a different kettle of fish to the more typical kind of printed advertising  – it requires an effective and eye-catching approach.

Take a look at our OOH ad campaigns for Samsung, Ikano Bank, Leicestershire Police and Gino D’Acampo which include billboards, bus shelters, digital outdoor media and London Underground carriages.

Samsung Smartcam – London
There are a range of fantastic technical features behind the Samsung Smartcam home security camera, but Samsung briefed Arch to focus on the pan and tilt auto-tracking functionality which detects and follows movement, with imagery accessible via WIFI and HD video on any smart device. We based our humorous idea for this out of home advert on a slightly dubious looking Santa breaking and entering via the chimney while the homeowner watches them on their smartphone upstairs from the comfort of their bed.

The adverts were featured inside tube carriages across the London Underground network in the lead up to the festive period together with an offer of £20 discount at Curry’s PC World.

Ikano Bank – Nottingham
The UK HQ of our Swedish client Ikano Bank is based on Station Street, Nottingham. There is a large 48 sheet backlit billboard opposite their offices which Ikano Bank has advertised on in the past. The new billboard design is the first in a series of new ads which will roll out throughout next year thanks to a recently secured contract with Primesight Media.

The messaging brief was twofold; to announce this news and to wish both the co-workers and consumers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. The billboard is an ideal platform to showcase lots of great content that Ikano Bank have coming up in 2017, as well as a space to engage with their co-workers.

We’ll be having some fun with our copywriting next year – watch this space!

Leicestershire Police & The UAVA – Leicester
Leicestershire Police were so impressed by the ad campaign we carried out in November for the UAVA domestic and sexual abuse support service for Leicester City Council they commissioned us to create another set of three ads specifically for Christmas. There are a higher number of domestic violence incidents reported to the police at this time of year and this campaign is about giving people a way to get help before things escalate to a point where the police are involved – a crucial part in their preventative work.

The 6 sheet ads will be displayed on bus shelters in Leicester and Hinckley, with adapted digital versions in the High Cross Shopping Centre throughout the Christmas period.

Gino D’Acampo – Leeds
Following the successful launch of his restaurant brand in Manchester and London, Gino D’Acampo’s new restaurant has recently opened in Park Row, Leeds. The two storey restaurant includes an open kitchen, eat-at deli bar and a fantastic Prosecco Bar.

As part of the extensive marketing launch activity we’ve been carrying out we have created a set of two HD 96 sheet digiboards, going live before and after the restaurant launch. The simple design used a prominent and recognisable image of Gino from the front cover of his highly successful new book Gino’s Hidden Italy which has been featured on his primetime TV series Gino’s Italian Escape.

The digiboard site in Meadow Road is a prime location for consumers, a gateway site as they enter the city. It certainly got tongues wagging, creating a tease and buzz on social media helping to result in sold out tables throughout the Christmas period.

Stay tuned as we have lots more exciting news to tell you about the Gino D’Acampo My Restaurant and My Pasta Bars in the new year.

So, that’s that – the OOH campaigns we’ve been working on in the last few weeks. If you’ve got an out of home campaign you’d like our help with, give us a call on 0116 253 0489.

Merry Christmas, everyone, and have a very Happy New Year! See you in 2017!
