Arch Creative have been working with charity Soft Touch Arts for the last three years – and this year is their thirtieth anniversary!

We met Soft Touch Arts at the Leicester Mercury 2012 Business Awards – (neither of us won an award that year, but Arch won in 2013 and Soft Touch Arts in 2014). We hit it off straight away and agreed that our similar creative approach would be a great match. We have been working with Soft Touch ever since and have developed a great relationship.

Our first foray into supporting Soft Touch came with our involvement in last years re-brand. We designed the plectrum shaped logo, alongside a range of brochures, flyers, roller banners and other marketing collateral. We’ve also helped with mentoring some creative workshops.

Soft Touch is a fantastic Leicester based charity that aims to inspire and engage disadvantaged young people through the arts – be it music, crafts, video, theatre – pretty much anything you can think of that is in the least bit artsy! The charity works mainly with young people who might not otherwise have the opportunities to take part in these sorts of activities.

More recently our involvement has extended to designing the new website which was officially launched last week and we’ve also created the 30 year animated ident. The ident has a distinctive 1980’s electric neon feel to reflect the year that Soft Touch was born – 1986. Click to see the ident here.

We recently attended Soft Touch’s thirtieth anniversary VIP event – 86:16 – at their building on New Walk in Leicester City Centre – the first in a series of events to mark the occasion. The event had a pretty prestigious guest list, with a speech given by Soft Touch patron and fantastically titled Lord Lieutenant of Leicestershire Jennifer, Lady Gretton.

The next event is ‘I love the 1980’s’ with eighties themed food, quiz and disco which is taking place on Saturday 26th November. If you are interested in buying tickets they are priced at £10 and can be bought here.

Thank you for all the great work you do at Soft Touch Arts and here’s to another thirty years!
