Nick Hamson - Producer, St. George's Day
St. George’s Day is a British gangster film written and directed by Frank Harper. Britflicks stated that ‘this is the best British gangster film since Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, and it performed very well on DVD and Sky Box Office sales.
Arch Creative were involved right from inception, prior to the film being put into production. We created the original branding, website and investment brochures. We also created the branding for Frank Harper’s own production company ‘Big Cat Films’ which was featured as an ident at the start of the movie.
As part of the DVD launch promotion for St George’s Day we were asked to design a new iOS app. The app would be offered as part of a limited promotion to early purchasers of the DVD.
The app was designed to marry perfectly with the branding materials already created for the picture.
The St. George’s Day look and feel was rolled out throughout the app to give it some real gritty UK gangster movie attitude which was tailored specifically for the movie’s key audience.
As well as the usual movie stills, synopsis and trailers we wanted to give the app some real extra value. This came in the form of a novel series of behind-the-scenes trailers, which were shot with a Panoaction 360° camera. Together with some nifty programming this allowed the user to pan the movie 360° to view all of the action!
