It may have been Halloween on Thursday but we were still in a charitable mood. Soft Touch Arts held a reception at their new premises on New Walk to help raise awareness to the local business community about the many ways they help young people who perhaps lack opportunities or face challenges to participate in positive, creative activities.

As well as Arch Creative and a host of other local companies, the event was attended by Assistant Mayor Manjula Sood and Charity Patron and Lord Lieutenant of Leicestershire, Baroness Gretton.

There were plenty of inspirational young people showing their talents last night from musicians, video producers, poets and some very convincing Halloween make-up! There were even some musical pumpkins!

This week we’ve been using our creative skills by mentoring a small group of young people. We were on hand to help them with the design of temporary graphics to the front of the building and this will be in place until July 2014 when the renovated building will be opened.

Hope you all had a frighteningly good Halloween!
